China Connection’s Bonny Cooper and local Chinese women have teamed up, with the support of Radius Housing, to try to reduce isolation felt by female members of the Chinese Community in the Causeway Coast area.
The group have used the 5 steps to mental wellbeing by Minding your Head: connect, active, learn, take notice, and give to develop the programme alongside the ladies attending.
The programme aims to connect Chinese women in the Causeway area who are normally isolated, to build a support group for each other, share life experience, learn local knowledge and practical conversational English, exercise together, and learn about and improve mental health. The women also engage with the local community, share the Chinese culture and help to build a more inclusive and embracing cohesive community.
